Quoted 12 April 2025. Framing, insulation, drywall, egress window and finish carpentry.
01 The live demo
A real answer with the estimate it came from. Try the suggestions, or ask it something it does not know.
Example · a fictional contractor’s own documents
Example workspace — not a live corpus. Engagements start with one job type (Estimate Desk).
02 The cost of being the answer
What did we charge the Hendersons. Do we do cedar. Is demo included. Every question in the business ends up at you, and when you are not there, somebody guesses. A new office hire takes six months to stop interrupting you. And the lesson from a job that went badly lives in one person’s head until they leave.
03 A day in the business
Customer on the phone asking whether the change order included the window, with the change order open in front of her. She does not put him on hold.
Standing in a basement, pricing on the spot. Texts for the last three Azek numbers and quotes from his own history instead of his memory.
Needs the standard exclusions for a bath gut. Gets the current list rather than copying last year’s estimate and inheriting last year’s mistake.
Three weeks in. Asks it eleven things that day. Interrupts nobody.
04 The accuracy promise
The obvious worry is that it invents something. So before handoff we agree twenty questions you already know the answer to, we run them, and you see the score. Eighteen out of twenty or we keep working. And when it has no source for something it says so and tells you who to ask, instead of making up a number.

The Ask Card
Ten things to ask it this week, printed for the office wall.
A folder with all of it, handed over on day one.
06 Where it lives
Your documents sit in storage built for your company alone, in the United States. Nothing is used to train anything, and the company running the AI puts that in writing. You get the whole thing back as a folder on day one, before you ever ask for it.

A knowledge base goes stale. Prices move, a bad job adds an exclusion, a new crew arrives. A stale Brain is worse than none, because people trust its wrong answers.
